That's another thing that makes me sick about breeders and pets; They think it's sooooooooooo cruel to neuter/spay (it's against nature!), but won't hesitate to declaw/have vocal cords clipped on their animals, then turn them loose.Or, killing them outright. :X

I know, right? What's even funnier is that they don't bother to neuter the pet, and then they abandon it because it's spraying everywhere, but the reason it's spraying everywhere is because it's not fucking neutered!

The other thing they don't get is that neutering is actually good for them, if you intend to keep them from breeding (which you should, obviously).

The reproductive system of a dog or a cat is a lot "busier" than that of a human. They have short reproductive cycles, and they go through a ton of them over the course of their lives.

Leaving them intact and not letting them breed is pretty much a guarantee that they'll get some kind of reproductive cancer in middle age.

Not only that, but they'll just be miserable. Their heat cycles are extremely compelling. It's just friggin' mean not to neuter.

Oddly, we had a female cat long ago we had spayed and she took to spraying everything like a male cat. She also was declawed but was still capable of bringing down all kinds of wild prey. This was back when declawing was more commonplace.

Another thing about not neutering your cat or dog-they can become aggressive. We had a male poodle who would become extremely aggressive if a female anywhere in the neighborhood went into heat. He also would pee on things at this time. Neutering happened pretty quick. Unfortunately, we had to have him euthanized at age 8 due to a genetic illness the vet misdiagnosed as epilepsy. He had copper retension in his liver.
